Alana provides digital expertise and a creative eye to the Community Solutions team. An experienced digital creator and innovator, her previous roles include Digital Coordinator at Education Centre Gippsland College, where she assisted staff to use technology in a relevant and confident way to enhance student learning. Her passion for using technology to reach groups and communities is why she is excited to be working with the GCS team.
With more than 15 years of working with young people in schools and community groups, Alana brings an understanding of current issues facing young people and a direct experience of intersectional youth work. Working primarily with young people from a rural and regional background, but also working with disability, LGBTQIA+ groups and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds has given Alana wider insight and techniques to meeting the needs of a community.
Alana holds a Bachelor of Education (Honours) and a Diploma of Youth Work. When not working with Gippsport Community Solutions, Alana is finding ways to be involved in local musical theatre and keeping up with her rambunctious Quaker parrot, Pickle.
